Birthday Musings: My life is more than half over!

I was born on May 21st, 1959. I always remember the story of my birth, because my Mom would always tell me every year. According to her, I interrupted her watching the show called: "Maverick." She never got to see that episode because back then they didn't have reruns. I was born in the early hours of the 21st. My Dad was gone when I was born. He was on an oil rig working.  We always told him he was busy earning the money for having me. I was the last one and the most expensive. I will be 60 tomorrow. That just blows my mind. I am the youngest of four kids. I know several people that share my birthday. One actually will be turning 60 tomorrow as well. My husband is constantly reminding me that I am old. Well, yeah I am older than him by 2 1/2 years and he doesn't let me forget it. Three years ago, I went through five surgeries in 6 months with 2 rehab stays. I will be thinking of you

I am not one for writing poetry however, every once in a while I manage to come up with a poem. This is what I wrote this morning. I was thinking of our daughter, Jessica. She has been gone for about 18 years now. Hard to believe it's been that long already. Here is the poem: When the sun rises and the sun sets, I will be thinking of you When the birds sing, and the butterflies fly by I will be thinking of you When I see a penny on the ground I will smile and look around I will be thinking of you. You have been gone for so long I can't wait until I can see you again, In the meantime, I will be thinking of you
