Blessigs Jar revisited for 2018

Image
At the beginning on 2018, I started a Blessings Jar. I wanted to remember all of the blessings I had during 2018. Some of these may not seem like blessings because it is remembering deaths as well. However, the people that I have known that died are now at rest and are out of pain. So having the faith I do in God I know I will see them again some day. Jamuary 2018: January 1st: Gave away a kitten from Misty's litter.  James got a Galaxy 8 phone from Xfinity. January 3rd: Snowmagedon happened in Charleston. We had 5' of snow! January 5th: First dream I had about my Dad. I don't always remember my dreams. So for some reason I thought it significant enough to add it to my Blessings jar. In the dream we are at a bar b que place together. He passed away in March of 2016. January 11th: Carroll's Dad went to heaven. He was such a sweet man what I remember. Carroll has been married to my brother Steven for about 46 yrs now. January 12th: James traded his IMAC

Movies seen in 2018, Part 2

I think that of all of the movies we watched this year the two really good movies were The Meg and Peppermint. Before the end of 2018 we got to go see Bumblebee. It's about one of the transformers. It was a really cute movie. It reminded me of Herbie from the 60's- early 70's. As 2018 was coming to a close, James and I was watching one of our favorites: Top Gun! I never get tired of that movie! What movie did you liked the best in 2018? We watched REPOMAN. He repoed organs. It was gross and bloody! Yuck!  Wed, Sep 12, 2018  Peppermint. It stars Jennifer Gardner. This was a really good movie. Fri, Aug 31, 2018 We watched Equilizer AGAIN! James loves that movie! lol Fri, Aug 24, 2018 Life of the Party: Melissa McCarthy in it. It was really cute. She went back to school after being out of school for 23 years. Graduated the same time as her daughter.  MEG, we went and saw this movie today. WOW! It had Jason Stiltman or whatever his name is. He is the one that does act

2018 in review part 1

It's the last week of 2018. This year I have written down more as to what I have done than in years past. I started writing for pleasure last January. I have written several stories: Ghosts for Sale, and Saving Naomi. I  wrote about Jessica and her life: Celebrating Life, Heavens Bridge. Also, wrote about my adventures from my surgeries in 2016. I hope to write many more stories true and other wise in 2019. Found out today (27th) that a friend that James and I knew from when we lived in Houston died today. Jeff Chandler. We stayed with him and his first wife Dawnette when we moved to Georgia back in 1997. Date DIED entered Thu, Dec 20, 2018 Ken Barry from Mama's family died at 75 I think it was. Also Penny Marshall died this week. All of the oldies that I grew up watching. She was from Laverne and Shirley. Mon, Dec 03, 2018 Stan Lee, he was the creator of Superman, and the Marvel comic book heroes. I am not sure when he died it was sometime in November. He was 95. I

Surgeries

I am going to attempt to express what all transpired when it comes to my brain tumor and the surgeries that I had in 2016.   I was finishing up my student teaching in December of 2010. I was constantly sick at this time it seems. I had been diagnosed with COPD because I had bronchitis so much. I was constantly on medicine as well as using a nebulizer. I almost didn’t graduate because I was sick so much. Then one day in December, we had a meeting at the school I was student teaching. I noticed that I was having trouble hearing in my right ear. I couldn’t hear myself talking and I kept hearing a low buzzing noise. I felt like I was hearing a radio station off channel.     So I went to the doctor I go to, and he referred me to an ENT specialist. I told the Dr. my symptoms and he did a hearing test. He decided that I needed an MRI to see what was going on. Sure enough I had a brain tumor, but it was small and beign. It was located behind my right ear. He said we would

Celebration of Life: Repost (In honor of Jessica)

I wrote this for a writing prompt back in March. I feel that it is fitting to repost it here on the day 28 years ago when I had Jessica. She will always be our Jessaroo!              Oh my!  I was going to have a baby!  James and I had just gotten married and I was looking for a job on our side of town.  I was taking James to work to have to car so I could go look for a job.  I dropped him off and went and got a drink at the gas station and was going to fill up the gas tank before I headed home. I was about 26 weeks along in my pregnancy. I went into the gas station to go use the restroom.  I peeked out of the ladies restroom and exclaimed "Please call 911! I am bleeding and something is wrong with my baby!”    I don’t really remember what happened after that, or how exactly I got to the hospital. I remember waking up and being on a hospital bed in the ER. The nurse had given me oxygen and was asking me all sorts of questions.  "Honey, what is your name? How old are you
