Summer is almost over...

Well summer is here and almost gone. We have a couple of more weeks of break and then its back to the schedule of school for the kids and work for me. WOO HOO!! James starts his new job today at the College of Charleston downtown. He will be Operations Manager for the Data Center. GO HONEY!! Then he will be also working his part-time security job on Mon, Tues, and Fridays. This will make for a very long day for him. I started my online graduate course on Characteristics of Emotional Disorders and Behavioral Disorders. It is really interesting on how we have class. We have email we use from the University of Phoenix and we write in our responses to what the instructor wants us to write about. Then we respond to each others papers. We also have two projects we will be working on in groups. We also have alot of reading. Thankfully the book is online. I was going to go find it and get it from Barnes and Nobles and it was going to cost 87.00. CHOKE!! Thankfully also...this class is spons...

Schools Out, Highly Qualified test, Classes....etc

Well I did not realize it has been since Spring Break when I wrote last. Alot has happened since then. I survived my first year of public school teaching. WOO HOO!! I took the test to become highly qualified. I should find out the results this next week. I also had my inservice classes with the PACE program in June. It was 2 weeks of being brain fried but I passed. We learned alot of stuff that we can take back to our classroom this next year and hopefully use. The kids just got back from Happy Days Camp. They had a blast but Kristina came back sick. I am not use to her being sick. She is so moppy when she is sick and so sensitive. We have gained 2 new family members. There is Ginger, which i think I already wrote about and then we got Bailey the kitten that thinks he is a tiger. Hopefully i can post a picture of him soon. I have been working on our web page the past couple of days. Boy you can tell i have not messed with it in the past year. There are alot of broken links on there that...

Spring Break

AHHHH, Spring Break...What kids and teachers long for....second to Christmas break and Summer break of course. It has been nice already to not have to go anywhere unless i really have to. Saturday I had my seminar for the PACE program. It lasted from 8 until about 3. We had fun actually with doing skits having to do with the history of education in S.C. The next time we get together as a PACE group it will be during the June Inservice. This 9 weeks we are learning about Earth Materials (translation rocks and minerals) in Science. We have one more 9 weeks and school will be out for the summer. WOO HOO!! I recently received my certificate for my first year completion of teaching. I had to go to Induction meetings once a month during this year. Charleston County had a special meeting for us where we met the new Rookies of the year as teachers and meet the ones from last year. They also had a reception for us afterwards. I will not miss having to go to the meetings. During the ...

I can breathe now!

This is my first Saturday where I have not had to go to Columbia for teacher training. PTL!! Darn I miss my seat in the second row next to my buddy Sal. NOT!! It is nice to stay home for a bit and just breathe a sigh of relief. I finished my training and PASSED! WOO HOO!! I now go to the second half which will not seem so bad but is just as important. It just takes longer to do the project. I am now back on track with the teachers in training that had it during the summer. We will all meet on Feb.25 in Summerville for a day filled with information. That is when we have homework due. School is going well with the kids. We hit the 100 day mark last Monday. WOO HOO!! I will be glad when I have had a year of teaching under my belt. I will be glad to not have to be under the microscope like i have been this year. I had my observation from my principal on Thursday. I will not find out how i actually did until Feb. 28th when i go for a meeting with her to find out. UGHHHH!! The torcher we go ...

HO HO HO Merry Christmas

Well it is Christmas night at the Moffitt household. Kids and Dad are playing poker...hehe I have been studying and was looking at James' blog and decided to blog myself. I realize i have not blogged since Lulu went missing in October. Well she is still gone so we figure she went off and died in the woods. :( I still miss her a bunch. We have the birds and Angel and Ginger as well as Justin's hamsters so we do not lack animals around here. hehe Well i survived the study of the crayfish. They were actually rather boring cause the females died early on when we first got them and all that was left was the males. By the time the principal took the rest of them to a pond there were only 4 left out of 12. I did find out some interesting things about them. They are from the same family as the lobster and they like carrots. When we go back to school we will be studying the Bess Beatles for about a week. Then it will be a new 9 weeks and the kids will have Health with the PE teacher a...

Nice quiet brunch: NOT

Yesterday morning, James and I decided to go to Cracker Barrel, which is one of our favorite places to eat. There we can share a big breakfast and both be full but not overly full. Well when we got there it was going to be a 25 to 30 minute wait. It was loud in there and after waiting for about 5 to 10 min. James decided that we needed to go somewhere alot less crowded and noisy. So off we went toward the beach. We found a cool restraunt called "Coconut Joe's Grill" on the Isle of Palms. We can sit outside and look at the water while being in a screened in porch. I love kids, I really do...however when I am trying to have a nice, quiet, peaceful brunch with my husband before he has to go off to Miami for 2 weeks or more..... Well there was a screamer in the bunch...not sure what table it was coming from but I do know that he/she was NOT happy. I was having flashbacks from when Kristina was about that age ....probably around a year or so if not less and she was SCREAM...OH...

Picture of Ginger

Image
This is the newest addition to the Moffitt household. This is " Ginger Tinkerbell Stitch Moffitt" Angel and Sammy had one last litter and we just gave away 5 puppies to neighbors around our street. However, this is the luckiest puppy of them all because she was chosen to stay with us. She is now about 7 weeks. My kitty Lulu that adopted us 2 yrs ago when we moved back here has gone missing. She got attacked by something about a week ago and was stuck in James' hood of his car. Well anyway, she was injured pretty bad. She could hardly walk. She came in and was under my bed for about 2 days and i would try to get her to eat. Then about 3 days ago she left the house while the doors were opened and has not been seen at all. I am hoping she will show up again soon when she has recovered. As James said...she lost 7 of her 9 lives that day. Well now that i shared our baby Ginger....and told you about Lulu...I guess its time to get ready for work.
