Author: Shirley Eads
I am excited about writing about Shirley Eads! She is married to my Dad for the past 2 years. She has been a successful English professor at Del Mar Jr. College in Corpus Christi, Texas and is now retired. She has also worked in the corporate world.. She has written a book about teaching called, "The Art of Mentoring: Lead, Follow, and Get Out of the Way. She wrote this book under the name Dr .Shirley Peddy.
The Art of Mentoring: Lead, Follow, and Get Out of the Way was written in 2001. This is the blurb about the book:
The Art of Mentoring is a universal guide to developing the talents of others. It teaches how to create learning partnerships in today's challenging work environments. This book covers some of the most contentious mentoring issues: helping the new employee learn the unspoken rules, improving interpersonal skills, dealing with job dissatisfaction, workaholism, cynicism, and lack of motivation which often comes at the end of a career. It also gives advice to the "mentee" on how to make the process work and avoid the pitfalls. As the New York Metropolitan News put it: "Anyone looking for advice or looking to advise another will find it an indispensible reference." The Art of Mentoring has found its way into corporations, government agencies, hospitals, and colleges, but individuals looking for success will also find it a "must have." You can find the book on Amazon.
Shirley just recently published a book called: "Lady Killers"
Here is the exerpt from the book
When a popular Texas State Senator running for reelection hires an assassin to solve his problem with a demanding young lover, he gets more than he bargained for--a murderer who enjoys his work, a media eager to exploit the scandal, and two detectives hired by the coed's parents to find their daughter. The Senator is one of the lady-killers. The other is known as "The Shark" because of the cold-blooded way he takes out anyone who gets in his way or who might get too close to uncovering his identity. Although the people who deal with him don't understand the price they may pay, he considers nobody a friend. The main characters are two sister detectives, Kate March, a former newspaper reporter, and Allison Chandler, a former clinical psychologist, who have solved numerous crimes. Victoria's family, frustrated with the slow progress of the police investigation, decides to hire them. While the local media zeroes in on a potential scandal, the sisters split up the investigation which moves from Victoria's college to the other women who know the Senator intimately. Two other characters who play key roles include Beto, a college student, and his older brother Paco. The stories surrounding these diverse characters combine to create a page-turning tale of suspense, revenge, and murder.
